This animation in particular is about a plaid sasquatch, named Plaidsquatch, who endures what every 20-something goes through; moving out of their parents house. I was inspired by a lot of friends that go through similar situations but in the story, Plaidsquatch ends up being able to do what he’s always wanted to do which is travel away from his secluded way of life. Technically speaking, The Legend of Plaidsquatch is a stop motion animation made with cut out paper. I made the characters and backgrounds out of paper and animated them frame by frame. This technique was chosen because it is less time consuming than computer animation and I like how it is more like traditional artwork. The paper textures give it more of a collaged look which matches the rustic feel of animation.
